Build, sail, and dismantle a timber raft – all in one day. Expect an experience that combines full focus with a deep sense of calm. You’ll learn the knots and lashings required to build a safe raft, and after a few intensive hours, it’s time to launch. The reward is a peaceful journey along the mighty Klarälven River before the raft is taken apart once again.

We highly recommend booking a night in a cabin at Klarälvens Camping after the timber rafting trip. You’ll be able to enjoy your day on the river even more if you know you don’t have to continue travelling the same day.
Building and then dismantling your “own timber raft” is a major and unforgettable part of the Klarälven experience.
It’s easy to relax here and simply enjoy your time off. If you prefer to stay active, there are plenty of fun and challenging adventures with the campsite as your starting point. Build your own timber raft and drift along the mighty Klarälven River, join our guide on a beaver safari during the bright summer evening, or go canoeing and stop at an island for a coffee break.

A very pleasant campsite by the Klarälven River. Here you can, among other things, build rafts and take shorter or longer trips along the river. Of course, there are also opportunities for fishing and other activities.” – Tappis

In northern Värmland, deep forests stretch on for miles. Here, you’ll enjoy hiking through magnificent nature along well-marked trails.
Depending on which package you have booked, there are different starting points, sometimes also referred to as meeting points.
Please note: If you search for Vildmark i Värmland on Google or another search engine, you will be directed to our office in Torsby. No tours start from there.
The travel documents for your specific tour clearly state where your tour begins. This information is usually found at the end of the travel document.
Can we drink the water from the river or lakes?
The water can only be drunk if it is boiled. It is perfectly fine to use for cooking, coffee, tea, etc.
On longer tours (3–7 days), we provide fresh water containers that you can fill before setting off.
It is also fine to wash dishes using river or lake water. Please remember to bring environmentally friendly dish soap.
Are there many mosquitoes?
There are always mosquitoes. How many depends on how dry, warm, and wet it is or has been. A strong spring flood followed by warm weather usually means more mosquitoes.
However, it is very rare to have mosquitoes out on the river. They mainly appear on land and in the evenings. Mosquito repellent and covering clothing are the best protection.
As far as we know, mosquitoes here do not carry any diseases.
Is it possible to travel to you by train or bus?
For most packages, you can travel by bus or train from Karlstad to our starting points. This depends on which package you’ve booked and on which day.
For example, if your canoe trip or timber rafting adventure starts on a Saturday or Sunday in Gunnerud, there is no bus service to Gunnerud on weekends.
In that case, we can pick you up at the bus stop in Sjögränd (just south of Gunnerud). You must inform us in advance, and we will do this free of charge, provided you arrive on the bus connection closest to the start time of your booked tour.
